Oral Surgery
The extraction of a tooth is the surgery that it is performed mostly by dentists; it happens in the case when other treatments that are designed to keep the tooth are not predictable or impossible to be implied. In this case the tooth is removed and ideally offered various options replacement.
If a simple extraction of a tooth is not possible due to its great damage, it is removed surgically.
Surgical extraction is also indicated in cases of impacted or semi-impacted wisdom teeth when they cause problems or proactively not to cause problems in the future. This does not mean that all wisdom teeth are removed surgically.
